Be An Elf Quilt Pattern

Happy July friends! There has been a lot of Christmas sewing, designing and new winter-y fabrics going on this month in preparation for "Christmas in July!" Even if you are not ready to start your Christmas sewing yet, it is NEVER too early to start planning. Imagine a holiday season where your presents were all made and wrapped by the beginning of December so you can slow down and enjoy the season! Well, let's start planning together today so we can make that a reality!

Today is RELEASE DAY for the the brand new "Be An Elf" Quilt pattern! I am so excited to share this pattern. This is the 6th pattern in the "Be A..." Quilt pattern empowerment series. These patterns are designed to inspire and transform the recipient INTO the character on the quilt. They are fun, silly and oh so sweet and even adults can't help but smile when they snuggle under them!

This version is a winter elf that is out in a snowstorm. Complete with stripped, pieced leggings, elf shoes, suspenders and fringe cuffs. This lap-size quilt (48" x 62") is perfect for snuggling under with a bowl of popcorn and your favorite holiday movie! I can even see children in pajamas on Christmas morning wrapping themselves in these quilts as they open their stockings!

The snowflakes on this quilt are raw-edge applique so they are quick and fun to create. If fact, you can piece the whole quilt easily in a weekend. The big pieces in the main Elf block sure help the quilt go together quickly. I have even included the SVG cut files for the snowflakes in the PDF Instant Download pattern if you prefer that to cut by machine instead of by hand!

I am so happy with how the Woven Ribbon border turned out too! It is stripped-pieced together so that even though it looks time-consuming, in fact, it is quite simple and fun to put together!

My fabric pull for the Be An Elf quilt is from the Riley Blake Designs Basics collections. I love Basics so much and Riley Blake has such a huge assortment. They are constantly adding new prints and colors and they can be used and blended with pretty much every project!!! I used prints from the Bee Basics collection, Blossom, Bee Cross Stitch and Kisses Collections! For a complete listing of the fabrics I used, scroll to the bottom of this post. I LOVE the Bee Basics Polka Dot gray background print. It has such a textured effect on each polka dot and was so easy to use in any direction on this quilt! The Bee Basics Heart Red is one of my all-time favorite RBD Basics prints too!

Don't be surprised if EVERYONE wants to join in on the "Be An Elf" fun!!! This Good Deeds Elf is so excited to to welcome this quilt the "Be A..." quilt pattern series!

The Be An Elf Quilt Along will run all of October 2021! Plenty of time to get organized with your pattern, and fabrics. You can have this quilt pieced and off to the quilter before November begins! Will you join us this fall?
