Today is a bonus week of the Granny Square Cross Stitch Along! This week I am sharing with you "why" I stitched all (4) of my Granny Squares on separate cross stitch cloths. Are you ready for a fun little tutorial?
Throughout the month of June, I was stitching along with
Lori Holt and the Fat Quarter Shop on this fun, and simple,
Would you like to make this little 10" square patchwork with me? It is fun and easy! Let's get started!
What you need:
(4) Granny Square Cross Stitch Blocks, on individual fabrics (or with a minimum of 1" spacing between each block)
Assortment of Lori Holt cotton fabrics in a variety of colors and patterns
2 1/2" Cute Cuts Ruler
Instructions:
1. Center your 2 1/2" Cute Cuts Ruler over each of the (4) Granny Square Cross Stitch blocks. Trim to 2 1/2" square. Set aside.
2. Cut (21) 2 1/2" squares of scrappy fabric. I used all Lori Holt fabrics from Riley Blake Designs from my stash.
3. Lay out your blocks and rows as shown. Play with a scrappy fabric placement and have some fun!
4. Sew each horizontal row together and press seams from each row in opposite directions.
5. Pin and sew each row together and press.
You can finish this 10 1/2" block however you would like or set it aside for a fun, free and useful project I will share with you as part of the Bee Sew Inspired Organize-Along, later this month!
